Who Am I?

Many years ago I stopped by Abloom Florist in Highlands Ranch for a bouquet of flowers. Picking up a business card at the register, I was surprised to see that the owner, Maxine Alcott, and I shared a surname. Luxe & Luscious, Tech & Tots

Rent the Runway, Make an Entrance

Statement tops are all the rage during holiday-party season, and for good reason. Just add bottoms of black, white or denim, throw on some earrings, grab a clutch, and you're good to go!

Grandkids and Granddogs Welcome

THE CONSUMMATE HOSTS  As a couple, David and Rena Michael have been cultivating their hosting skills for nearly five decades. When it comes to hosting for the holidays, whether it’s “just family” or for large parties, Rena summarizes the secret to success in one word, “Planning!” she declares.  “I take the time to decide who should sit where, which serving dishes I’ll be…

Abloom in Winter

When Maxine and Adam Alcott opened their first floral business in 1986, a small studio west of Santa Fe Drive that specialized in events and hotel decor, Highlands Ranch as a community was just getting going. "We were watching Highlands Ranch grow up around us, and it seemed like a natural move to open a retail store right there, in…
