Juicy Burgers & Dogs 3

Americana Cuisine: The Real Deal

Just off Yosemite Street, Juicy Burgers & Dogs is seemingly nondescript—until you walk into the throwback restaurant and experience what many have declared the best hamburger and/or hotdog they have tasted—ever.

“Hands down, that was the best burger I’ve had in my life,” declares one customer. As it happens, said customer is an expert: he’s been in the restaurant business for over 30 years. “I could taste the freshness of every single ingredient.”

In fact, it’s the ingredients that are essential to the rapidly growing success of Juicy Burgers & Dogs. “We use nearly all local purveyors…it’s vital for the freshness our customers come in for,” owner Paul Talbot declares with evident Colorado pride. He and his co-owner wife, Brooklynn, relish in offering what is typically only available in secret corners of major U.S. cities like New York and Chicago, the latter being the inspiration for their exceptional hotdogs: authentic Chicago-style dogs made with classic Vienna beef, made-to-order as if from the Windy City itself.

Juicy Burgers & Dogs approaches their burgers with the same standard of high-quality. “We use fresh ground sirloin,” says Paul. With several brilliantly crafted burger concoctions to choose from, no one leaves hungry! This is especially true if homemade fries are added to the meal. “We cut them the morning of the day they’re served,” explains Brooklynn. You can choose either regular or sweet potato fries to suit your pleasure.

If it’s size you seek, Ditka’s Jumbo Hot Polish Sausage is 1/3 lb. of char-grilled beef. “The green-dyed relish is totally authentic,” explains Paul. And the “burger” in Juicy Burgers & Dogs isn’t limited to beef: behold, their succulent chicken breast served on a soft white bun, which deserves the “juicy” billing as well!

Juicy Burgers & Dogs offers two options for casual dining to suit your summertime druthers. Indoor dining provides air-conditioned comfort, and can accommodate larger groups and post-game celebrations (or consolatory meals!) Alternatively, their patio is available for those who prefer a boost of fresh air. Meals are also available for carry-out.

“No problem!” exclaims Shane LaDue to a request for “fully loaded” on a burger order (free extras are available on every meal.) LaDue is today’s “afternoon guy” running the front of the house—and he’s just one example of the superlative service at Juicy Burgers & Dogs. “Our staff is really a huge reason why people continue to spread the word,” says Paul. “It’s one reason they keep coming back.”

"I could taste the freshness of every single ingredient."
