Fourth Annual Great Douglas County Brew Tour – At a Craft Brewery Near You!

Douglas County Libraries (DCL) has once again partnered with craft breweries around Douglas County to promote local businesses and their products. The Great Douglas County Brew Tour is back for its fourth year of serving up local flavor during the month of September while inviting Douglas County residents to experience their library in fresh ways.

“With this unique, month-long event, Douglas County Libraries not only reaches patrons who aren’t typical library users, but we also get to highlight businesses that are a special part of our community,” says Kerri Morgan, program and events supervisor with DCL. “It’s a win-win for us and the participating businesses.”

A new stop on this year’s tour is Monk & Mongoose Gourmet Coffee in Lone Tree, adding to the variety of places in Douglas County to enjoy specialty brews. The Brew Tour’s featured events include beer and chocolate and beer and cheese pairings, a hipster coffee event, and brew-inspired crafts. Plus, several participating breweries are crafting limited-edition “library” brews to be tapped specifically during the DCL Brew Tour.

These are just some of the Brew Tour events happening during the month:

  • September 6, Lone Tree Brewing Company, Lone Tree: Beer and chocolate pairing
  • September 7, Living the Dream Brewing Company, Littleton: Crafty brews
  • September 20, Downhill Brewing Company (Elk Mountain Brewing), Parker: Beer and cheese pairing
  • September 21, 105 West Brewing Company, Castle Rock: Beer and chocolate pairing
  • September 27, Monk & Mongoose Gourmet Coffee, Lone Tree: Hipster coffee

Participating in the Brew Tour is free and offers opportunities to not only enjoy locally brewed craft beer and coffee, but also to win prizes and a bit of library fame. Visit DCL.org for more information and the complete list of participating breweries and events.

The Great Douglas County Brew Tour is DCL’s contribution to Outside the Lines, an annual Colorado library-led initiative to reintroduce libraries to their communities in engaging and creative ways.
