Welcome to beautiful October and our Health & Fitness issue! No offense to all the hip-and-fit grandmas out there, but if I had a nickel for every fitness-trend-diet-craze article I’ve read in my life, well, I’d have a lot of nickels. This isn’t that: I was amazed by how much I learned this month as we looked closely at what whole-body-and-mind wellness means and the importance of this thing called “community.”
That word—community—came up in almost every story we covered this month, from our story about Outlaw Yoga and the sense of community we all crave, to our fitness-technology review that revealed how the most popular and beneficial fitness-tracking devices infuse a feeling of togetherness into our workouts. We learned how naturopathic medicine seeks to make us well by finding what’s missing in our lives (hint: it may be a longing for connection and community). And we explored the kind of community that happens when you spread out a picnic blanket on a sun-kissed afternoon in our “Cozy Fall Picnics” photo shoot.
All this talk about community was especially meaningful for the team here at Highlands Ranch Lifestyle, as “Inspiring Community” is both our tagline and our mission. Attaining that feeling of connection and oneness in the hamlet we call home can lead to such greater quality of life for all of us!
